Dedicated Servers in Equinix Sofia Data Center

Host Color Europe's (HCE) main data center is located at Equinix SOF 1 facility, based out of in Sofia, Bulgaria. It works great for content delivery to all over Europe and is a primary location for Southeastern part of the continent. Our network there offers an average latency of 39 ms or less to most European cities and countries.

HCE Data Center

HCE (thought its Bulgarian based entity) was one of the first tenants in a brand new telecommunication facility, launched in 2009. Since then our main EU infrastructure and network are based out of this data center, which original name was 3DC. It has been bought by TelecityGroup, a major European data center service provider, which itself has been acquired in 2016 by Equinix.

Equinix themselves present their Sofia facility as "Built to the highest industry standards, SO1 offers a resilient, secure and carrier-neutral environment with high speed connections ready to serve the EU, Turkey and the Caucasus". In fact, the data center was built in 2009 as Tier 4 class facility where all systems autonomously provide N capacity to the critical loads after any single fault or failure. The facility offer 2x (N+1) power redundancy, N+1 cooling redundancy and has the following certifications ISO 27001 OHSAS 18001 ISO 9001 ISO 50001 ISO 14001.

Networking on Demand

We have access to more than 40 Global Tier 1 carriers, European and regional Internet service providers and a number of Internet Exchanges. Therefore HCE can customize the networking services to our clients' specific demand and add specific IP bandwidth providers to the our Sofia network.

As of March 2018 (the article has been updated), HCE has the following directs upstreams: Telecom Italia, Hurricane Electric, IPACCT, Novatel (Deutsche Telekom/Magyar Telekom) and internet connectivity through them to Level 3 (CentyuryLink), NTT America, Telia, Tata Communications, Interoute, Zayo Bandwidth, Sprint, Telefonica International, Verizon Business, AT&T Services and more.

Through the years we have served and still serving a number of high profile clients - international gambling and e-gaming operators, insurance companies, market leaders in e-commerce in the region, online streaming providers, quality media outlets and a number of companies who host Private and Public clouds on HCE network.

Cloud Computing IaaS

Our VMware powered Virtual Data Center is also located at our Sofia data center, Equinix SOF1. We deliver Cloud Servers and services, including Public, Private and Hybrid Clouds with High Availability and Automated Fault-Tolerance to our European clients from the HCE Sofia location.

HCE Cloud infrastructure features Fault-Tolerant SSD and SATA storage by default. The clients' data is hosted on two types of Storage Area Networks - one build with QSAN enterprise class storage appliances and the other one a Software Defined Network (SDN). HCE Virtual Data Center delivers White Label Cloud and European Infrastructure Hosting services to a number of IT Hosting and SaaS providers.

Bare-Metal Dedicated Servers

There are three groups of Dedicated Servers, which our our clients can choose from in the Sofia data center and to configure to their custom requirements - "4 CPU CORES (1x INTEL XEON)" based servers, "8+ CPU CORES (2x INTEL XEON)" powered machines and the very powerful "24 CPU CORES (4x INTEL XEON)" based physical servers.

All of them are connected to 1 Gbps physical internet ports with certain contracted Internet traffic, which starts from 5 000 GB metered data transfer. Dedicated 1 GigE port and certain capacity to 10 GE Internet ports are also available.
